Here's what I wrote in the 10-minute box. You have a go and sent it to me via www.nicenet.org
The things I hate
Actually, I hate very few things - really hate them. I think hatred is such a negative emotion that I try to avoid it at all costs. Half the time, I reckon hating something or someone is symptomatic of something wrong in your own life. I am not saying that everything in my life is brilliant, but I really do not need to exhibit my problems by showing people that I hate something - even though I do detest some things.
It's quite easy to write about your most favourite things - everybody has things and people they love. I love my wife, our house, our cat, spending time together in the evenings, going to see my mother and sitting talking to her, writing, texting, speaking on the phone (as long as I phoned someone and not the other way round), listening to good music, reading something I think is worth my time, going to the quiz every Wednesday and spending a great night in the company of my good friends - like I said, that's easy. Now think of the things you hate - cold winds, price increases, the price of a litre of petrol in England, rude people, expensive shops, wet days, being too tired to think, being really tired at the end of a long car journey, being ill, having a headache - it's not so difficult, after all. 9 mins 25 seconds
