This is a page I have saved for myself - it encapsulates all the things I think are wrong with how writing is taught, how it is thought of, how it is done, and what it can do for the person who writes - whether she calls her herself a writer or not.  The trouble with writing is that nobody thinks they will be any good at it.  It's almost as if we compare ourselves to great novellists and realize that we will never be able to do that.
